The Impact of COVID-19 on Migration Culture: Reviewing the Nigerian Experience

Abstract:

Migration culture is an integral aspect of human life. Man migrates from one place to another for different purposes including trade/business and job, etc. But with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in late 2019, this migration culture has been hugely affected. This paper therefore reviews the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the migration culture of the Nigerian people. The review points out that many Nigerians rely on daily earnings for survival. Consequently, the restriction of movements is impactful on such categories of people. This has negative impact on the socio-economic livelihood of the people.
