Collaboration and Funding

The Centre shall maintain working partnerships with the National Commission for Refugee, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), Civil Society Network on Migration and Development (CSOnetMADE); International Organization for Migration (IOM), and other organizations, agencies and institutions concerned with migration and development. The Centre shall also develop and maintain collaboration with other Centres of Migration Studies, other institutes with kindred vision and objectives and academic institutions around the world. In all cases, the Centre shall ensure that these collaborations are functional and effectively applied to the study, management and governance of migration issues and problems.

The Centre shall be funded primarily by the University. However, CMS-NAU shall be funded mainly through research grants from foundations, agencies and organizations. Also students are responsible for the payment of the fees for their academic programs unless they receive scholarship grants. The Centre shall also strive to source donors who contribute to overall operations and research of CMS-NAU as well as scholarship grants for students.
