To grow into a Centre of Excellence in Migration Studies by collaborative research and networking with the community of researchers, scholars, institutions, agencies and organizations involved in migration studies, management and governance across the world.
CMS-NAU envisions a nation, a continent and a world of informed peoples and perspectives on migration resulting in a paradigm shift from the migration-as-problem perception to migration-as-prospect orientation: migration as a natural current that creates opportunities for individuals, nations and peoples.
Mission
CMS-NAU comes to serve as a leading international Centre for the study of local and international migration dynamics with primary focus on Nigeria and Africa through a strategic, collaborative and integrated approach.
Mandate
Upon approval, the Senate of the University charged CMS-NAU with a triple mandate: Research, Teaching and Advocacy. The development of the Centre will usually be measured using the parameters of these mandates.
